Since taking office, Mayor Spano has overseen more than $4 billion in private investment in Yonkers housing, resulting in 9,100+ new multifamily units—10% of which are affordable, including workforce housing that supports families and essential workers.


Public Education

Under Mayor Spano’s leadership, Yonkers boasts the highest graduation rate among New York’s “Big 5” cities. Two new schools have opened recently, with another groundbreaking expected in 2026.

Mayor Spano has made public safety a top priority, helping Yonkers earn the distinction of being the second safest city of its size in the country, and the fastest-growing city in New York State.


Sustainability

Mayor Spano is leading Yonkers’ transition to a greener future—expanding green space, investing in climate resilience, and implementing the city’s Climate Action Plan.


Green Space

Under Mayor Spano, open spaces have flourished in Yonkers. From new parks, including a new waterfront park in Ludlow, to upgraded playgrounds and pickleball courts, his administration has prioritized green infrastructure to improve quality of life citywide.
